Sept 2006 - even the Magellan folks on the right side up north are happy:-) Hi Larry, my name is: Charles The unit arrived up here in Niagara Falls Canada in 2 business days. It installed in my P4 machine and found my Magellan Meridian Color GPS with no further help from me. Good product and super service. thanks, Charles Hobbs (feel free to publish this email if you wish) --------- end of message -------
April 2006 - another comment from a Magellan customer:
Hi Larry, my name is: John Looze. Your converter solved YEARS of frustration with my Magellan Marine Meridian. The converter sold by Meridian never worked, and its support people always approached the issue as if it was my computer's problem. Now, no more sitting in parking lots booting and rebooting in the hopes that it will finally work. Thanks for your product, your web site, and your personal attention. (Please feel free to post this.) John --------- end of message -------
Yet another Magellan owner (this one a SportTrack) reports being happy with our USB-serial adapter. I'm amazed and pleased that these great people take the time to write to us here only because it may help someone else, an unknown fellow Magellan GPS owner. Take it Bill;

Hi Larry, my name is: Bill Ferguson
I know you are a Garmin GPS guy but I have to tell you how you helped me out of a jam with my Magellan SportTrak Color GPS.
System: I use a P4 desktop computer operating with the latest security updates under Windows XP Home Edition hooked up to a cable modem and an internal wireless network.
GPS: SportTrak Color and MapSend Topo U.S. ver. 4.20

Problem: Mapsend would temporarily find the GPS on the Com port that it was hooked up to and then immediately say it was "busy". I spent hours upon hours of switching com ports, unloading programs from the start menu and rebooting, looking for device driver conflicts, reconfiguring firewalls, anti virus software, and talking to the Magellan tech support people. The advice from Magellan was worthless. Out of sheer frustration I stumbled onto your site and read every post from you and your customers. Then I ordered your USB-G4 converter. I assumed from reading the posts that, if it worked at all with the Magellan, I would have to rename Com ports or deactivate mouse devices or some other type of time consuming "tweaking". Well, I received it today, loaded the drivers that came with the unit, rebooted, hooked up the converter to an available USB connection, turned on the GPS, opened MapSend, went to the menu item to download waypoints and tracks from the GPS. It instantly recognized a new Com port (Com 3) and worked flawlessly. NO TWEAKING. Even with loading the new drivers, rebooting, and uploading the information from the GPS, the whole process took less than ten minutes.
The ordering was easy, the delivery was immediate and the value....."priceless".
P.S. I know other Magellan GPS users have had the same problem as mine so please feel free to post this if you want.

Hi Larry, my name is Mike Augeri from Warren Massachusetts
I purchased your USB-G4 adapter to use with my Magellan Meridian Platinum handheld GPS unit. This unit has a cable that has a proprietary connector on the device end and is terminated in a serial port connection on the other end. However, my new laptop computer doesn't have any serial ports. So I started looking for an adapter that would allow me to connect the serial port to a USB port. I'm glad to tell you that the USB-G4 adapter works for my configuration. I'm connecting the unit via a USB port on my Windows XP (with SP2) laptop computer. I've used the connection with the GPS Utility (v 4.04.7) and MapSend Streets & Destinations USA (v 4.00f) and both applications were able to access the unit without any problems. I just thought you might like to know. :-) Thanks, Mike Augeri --------- end of message -------
